Finnish Greens take on key ministerial roles in new coalition government
Three Finnish Greens are taking part in Finland’s 5-party coalition government.
The Government led by Prime Minister Antti Rinne has 19 ministers. The ministers from the Greens are the Minister of the Interior Maria Ohisalo, the Minister for Foreign Affairs Pekka Haavisto, Minister of the Environment and Climate Change Krista Mikkonen.
The government coalition aims to get Finland to net zero emissions by 2035. This is one of the most ambitious targets in the world and sets an important example.
